Here's a little story that should be told with a whole lotta heart and a little bit of soul

Probably one of the best times i've had this year came at Coca-cola Christmas in the Park 2008. One of the perks about being with the choir singing most of the songs in this 2-3 hour show is that you get a backstage pass as well as the chance to mingle with the rest of the celebrities. Well it was kinda boring learning each of the 19+ songs at first but it got more fun towards the end.
The ground minus the large crowd.
I'll just skip on to the fun parts. So yeah we started to feel the hype when we got to the site around 5ish and we were supposed to have our soundcheck around 6.30 and while i was walking towards the backstage area Serena txted me saying "OMGOMG We have a tent!" but Elemeno P were just starting their soundcheck so everyone was just watching in awe. People even come for the dress rehearsal, probably because there's gonna be about 200,000 people flooding the whole ground.
Later on we head off to our tent which the sponsors prepared for us equipped with only a table and maybe a few chairs. That was pretty much the downside of the whole time we had there but i can't complain! We had time to burn so some of us settled for some games while Sajid whipped out his reindeer horns and he and Serena started to pose for the cam.

Our luxurious tent =)
Next we were oh so bored so some of them (Serena, Sajid and Amanda) went to stalk and hug Sam from Sticky Tv. These guys are probably like the idols of the kids around n-zee. Suddenly Mandi spotted Drew and squealed and ran towards him and the guy looked like he's just got through a very frustrating and boring session somewhere only to be approached by this tall wide-eyed girl who asked him to do something which i'm not too sure about but i think it was somewhere along the lines of "OMG smell me Drew!" Lol obsessive much?
When Amanda met Drew
Anyhoo, on to the actual rehearsal session. Found out we all had to wear a personal mike each so that they could monitor our sound levels for the speakers. And it is because of this we're not allowed to speak on stage coz the mikes pick up even the slightest whisper so its not the best way to go telling your secret only for a crowd of 200,000 to hear no?
VIP crowd area
1st part of the show consists of mainly those traditional carols and thats where we performed most of the songs. At first we were pretty dazed when the the stage manager shouted "60 SECONDS PEOPLE" and then wahey! the curtain raised and there was a small crowd already there, about 5,000 strong. Ran through the entire first half of the show and then we stopped for a break.
Next it was time to rock out with Elemeno P, who were pretty stoked to have us singing with them (what an honour for us as well). Anyway we were getting it on pretty soon with Beverly Laurel then came the ultra-catchy Baby Come On and the everyone was practically on their feet dancing. We got to run through Baby twice and then it was on to the last few songs. Not bad for our first official rehearsal...
The Next Day (Epic Saturday) We had to wait at Dream Centre church for our bus to come pick us so in that time we(Serena) managed to hog Sajid camera and sort out the t-shirts the sponsors Coca-Cola gave us. I got an XXL shirt and it almost down to my knees WTF. Well it was pretty good to say we were pretty excited for the night.
Before we got to the actual place we could already see crowds of people carrying kids, chairs, tables, drinks, picnic baskets coz most of the roads were all closed around the Domain. Hah it felt so good to flash our "performers passes" when we got to the backstage gate, its one of those things that makes you feel so important.
Notice the blue-ish cloth at the back? That's our changing area =)
Settled down in our tent, got bored then started to play games and stalk celebrities. Haha these shows are sooo fun. Sajid was trying to tell Ella about this joke he heard saw on youtube about the time during the segregation in America and when he was done she was like "....." and he got soo frustrated he said:" OMG you're so blonde! ". In the end i swear it took her a few minutes before she finally got the joke and said "Owwwhh" which was when everyone was pretty much rofl.
Btw some of the choir managed to spot the guy playing Miles on Home and Away and mobbed him

So yeap we were just wandering around with nothing else to do but to shadow Sam and Drew as usual and try to high-5 as many celebs as we could. I think we probably annoyed them a wee bit. Meanwhile Mosa was entertaining himself playing "Concentrate" with the kids choir LOL. Nick said he was pulling a Micheal Jackson.
Then it was time to get the show on the road.
The first half went pretty well, it was a pretty nervous moment when the curtain raised and all you could see was people no matter how far you looked. And it was kinda hard trying to keep a smile all the way through coz the camera could be on you all the time. Oh did i mention that the show was gonna be shown on tv as well?
After the break it was time to rock with Elemeno P and we had so much fun the stage felt like it was going to give way to our stomping.Gibbo even had time to snap a picture of us using his pro as camera. Then the 2nd half passed too fast for me to remember much of it. Anyway in the end we all had so much fun and I'm so missing the choir right now. =(
During the 2nd half, with our sponsored t-shirts and our O.T.T decorations.
I'm so lazy to post most of the pics up so you can either see them on my facebook or here =)
