Main thing happening this week so far: Amnesty International Week. Its a group that protects human rights all over the world. The main country that's chosen for thisyear is China. So with the usual selling of badges and temporary tattoos supporting Amnesty, there was this prefect auction held on Tuesday and Wednesday. It's basically a where you have to place a bid of a sum of money on a prefect of your choice and if you win that prefect has to follow you around for the whole day and do whatever you want them to do. Naturally some of the more popular prefects got higher bids for them. Some were even sold for only a dollar!
Head Boy Carl Perry got a bid of $105 i think Then came the actual day where the students came to collect their prefects. My form classroom was the main collection point so the whole classroom was practically jam-packed with prefects and other students. Prefects being ticked off bearing reluctant faces left with their owners for the day.
Kyle Yong was dragged away by a bunch of giggling year 9 girlsFor the whole of Thursday you could see prefects being drawn on, forced to carry stuff, had to do their owner's homework etc. Some had to wear wigs and one prefect even had to wear a unicorn's head complete with horn and all! All in all Amnesty raised about $1600 dollars from the week's activities, so yeah it was not a bad effort.
