Sorry for the slow updates lately, i've been lazy to blog about the easter holidays here. Easter holidays are tremendously boring with all the malls and shops being closed, everyone just heads off to a holiday spot to chill. As a result, the roads are jam packed going out of the city.Our school had 6 days off for Easter, so it was a pretty long break. Even some of my friends went off on a road trip with their family so its been a generally boring time for me at home. One of the few times i actually got out of the house was when my family headed for a day trip to Maraetai Bay, which is bout 45 mins south of Auckland.
Nothing beats driving across the countryside in the car with the windows down and the radio turned up, and its great when all u see whizzing past are mostly trees and the odd herd of sheep/horse/cows.
The beach here is pretty beautiful, one of the many nice ones i've seen since i got here. This one has lots of shells though (some broken) , so its wasn't really practical to lose the slippers and go running off there and then. It is also one of the reasons why there was less people here compared to the other side of the bay. Found a spot to picnic and once we were done eating, we just sat around and admired the view.. forgot to mention, there was enough entertainment provided with a frisbee we brought..

I really envy the people who own the houses in the picture below. Imagine waking up every morning to this sight. This beach is also much better than the one i went to on my bio field trip. You can compare the difference with the pics below..
Almost paradise?
School starts tomorrow so its back to work for us here. Term break is in 3 weeks i think so its coming pretty soon as well! hehe =P
